About me...

Zdenek Becvar is associate professor at the Department of Telecommunication Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU). During PhD, he was working on optimization of handover procedure in mobile networks. Besides, he was involved in Sitronics and Vodafone R&D centers at CTU in Prague and he was on internship at Budapest politechnic during PhD. After PhD, he was visiting researcher in CEA-Leti and EURECOM. His research is oriented on a development of future mobile networks (5G, beyond 5G, 6G) with special focus on optimization of radio resource and mobility management, edge computing, C-RAN, and architecture of mobile networks. Zdenek has participated in several European and national research projects focused on mobile networks and has published results of my work in more than 70 papers and two US and two Czech patents. He has participated in committees of many international conferences and he acts as a review for many prestigious journals. At CTU in Prague, he teaches courses focused on mobile and wireless networks and he has supervised more than twenty master and bachelor students. Since 2013 to 2017, he was a representative of CTU in Prague in 3GPP and ETSI standardization organizations. In 2015, he founded laboratory of mobile networks 5Gmobile research lab, curently 6Gmobile, at CTU in Prague focusing on research towards future mobile networks.
